Response from Three Cities

Written by: Senator Gnaash Bora'k, Pontifex Okeanos
Date: Monday, December 17th, 2007
Addressed to: Everyone

His Eminence Archprelate Rho Dev'Evensong,

We, the city-states of Cyrene, Eleusis and Hashan, (hereafter the
"Independent City-States") hereby object to your interference in our
internal affairs per the demands given to us by your order and as stated
in Public post 17594, and we assert our unquestioned jurisdiction over
our laws and the rights and obligations of our citizenry. While we
believe that meaningful dialogue between Independent City-states and the
Church is possible and desirable, we view the dictation of conditions
and the threat of consequence as an infringement on our inviolable
sovereignty.

The Independent City-States request that these demands be retracted in
favour of cooperative negotiation, to be initiated with each of the
Independent City-states under terms agreeable to both parties. If His
Eminence is averse to the nature of such diplomacy, we must appeal to
the Prelates of the Holy Church and the leaders of the city-state of
Shallam to prevail upon Your Holiness in the interest of peace and
compromise.

We await your response.

Signed,

Sindri Lionblaze, Imperiate of Cyrene
Ravien Vas'amaen-Windsong, Speaker of Eleusis
Saltaern Sioraiocht, Seneschal of Hashan

Penned by my hand on the 4th of Mayan, in the year 467 AF.
