Three Lies, Two Truths, and One Fact

Written by: Lord Santar Darkwind, King of the Jungle

Hail everyone, I have been compensated to relay this message to the
public news board. This message is not from me. It is from someone who
will remain anonymous.

Since creation, Good has claimed to be superior, and has claimed to be
the only 'True way of life'. So far as to even have a city structured in
the name of Good, and the so called Church and preach it's ways. Well if
that is not enough, Evil too has a city for which to preach it's ways.
An between them both is Chaos, whos way is it's own.

All three are wrong. Good and Evil, and even Chaos. They are not ways of
life. They are Orders to be preached, and a uniform to wear for the
like-minded. No, in life, there is only Three Lies, Two Truths, and a
single Fact that is the only real way of life.

LIES

1) Friendship, is a lie.

There is no such thing as friends. What we call friends is a sad excuse
to mask an internal lonliness, and is a sign of weakness. What we have
is allies. Allies are those who are those you can trust, for the time
being, as long as they maintain your same views. If an ally betrays you,
they are not an enemy, and you think nothing of it. Friendship is an
idea. A hope. A hope that people can mean more to you then that. Someone
who trusts you and can be truste no matter what, and someone you can
always count on no matter what. That is the lie. I dare a one of you to
name one time at least one person whom you called 'friend' didn't betray
you. When friends betray us we feel a great sadness, why? Because we
called them friend and we thought that meant something. That betrayal
would never be an issue, and it hurts even more to think of having to
call that friend enemy. No. There is no 'friend'. There are only allies,
and the sooner you realise that, the sooner these weak emotions of
sadness can be erased. If you are so withrawn that you need more than
just allies, then you are weak.

2) Good and Evil, is a lie.
There is no real Good and Evil. They are in fact, the same thing. Or it
least, in a way they are. Good and Evil are not the exact opposite, they
are simply opposite sides of the same exact thing. In the Example of
Mhaldor and Shallam, both are very prosperous cities, with young ones
and elders, strong and weak. Both sides think the other is a weakness,
or at least something to be gotten rid of. Both has it's noble Knights,
it's wise Elders, and it's powerful Arcane Practicioners. Both seek to
better themselves, and strive to be on top in the name of their Order,
and both can be viewed as powerful in itself, and worthy of praise from
it's Divine. The only difference is the paths they take to achieve that
greatness. Mhaldor has it's Seven Truths which illiminate the weak, and
they preach absolute power through the bettering of the self in the name
of the Lords. With every weakness illiminated, each citizen becomes an
indestructable brick, and with those bricks, they become an impenitrable
fortress, standing together under one rule. Shallam praises the weak and
shows it mercy. They allow sympathy, and force restrictions and thus
hinder growth. Instead of a fortress, Shallam is a group of feeble
stones protecting pebbles, all under one rule. But! Good and Evil is a
lie. It is just a name for the same exact ideal achieved by taking two
seperate directions. Goals, are goals. The road you take, does not
change what the Goal is, only the journey to it, be it the road of Evil,
or the road of Good.

3) Truth, is a Lie.

Thats right. Even the very truth is a lie. Lies are storys and
fabrications of facts, in order to hide or change something. When you
tell a lie, you create a new truth. The world is filled with these false
truths and half the world doesn't even know it, and the ones that do,
can't prove it. Truths stem from facts, but how often or so called facts
changed, or proven wrong? This means the truth was changed into a lie,
even if it was honestly known as a truth for so long. In today's world,
when someone speaks, it is of words and knowledge they have learned from
others, who in turn learned it from others, who learned it from others.
Anywhere in there could the truth have been altered, even slightly to
create a new truth, and while when one person speaks, they think they
speak the truth, they speak a lie. And then you learn it, and you speak
it to others, and you lie. When people speak, it is purely fact that at
least fifty percent of what they say is in one way or another, a lie,
tought to them by their house, city, or order. So, choose what you
beleive carefully, but remember this. There is no such thing as Truth.
Only words, and those you cannot beleive, only actions, and what you
personally can see or prove real. But truth, is a lie.

TRUTHS
Rather contradictory, saying I speak the truth after saying truth is a
lie, but if you paid attention, you'd realise that what I am about to
say is something tought to me, or that I learned one way or another, and
therefore you can't simply believe it because I say it is true. It is
true to me, becuase I have practiced it. All you can do is listen, and
find out for yourself.

1) Advancement of the self is all that matters.

No matter where you go, what you do, if you are not strong, you are
worthless. Even in Shallam that shows mercy to the weak do they admit
this. If you cannot better yourself, and become great in one way or
another, then you are worthless to the world. It does not have to be
combat. If you cannot be great at something, anything, you are
worthless. Shallam, sure will show you mercy for your weakness, and of
course house you, but you will not be used in thier fights, you will not
be depended on, you will not be given special rights. Why? Because your
worthless. Mhaldor will not even deal with you. If you are weak, and
cannot better yourself to greatness, you are cast out as a hinderance to
them. Even to the Bards, if you cannot sing, have not musical talent, or
even put on a good play, you are worthless. The only thing that matters
in this world is advancement of the self. The problem is finding what it
is you want advancement in. With that in mind, you must never let
anything stop you from bettering yourself. If you of Shallam, and want
to grow in strength but are slowed because you have to restrict yourself
to the Laws, and the Church, then you are being told to become weak!
What does that say of your precious city if they hold you back? They
know you must become strong to mean something to the world, yet they
hold you back! Look at Mhaldor and it's Citizens! Every one of them is a
strong, fierce fighter, or powerful arcanist, or even a great scholar or
political mind. If you feel the need to better yourself but are
knowingly being held back, don't stand for it! Don't fear the Church or
Shallam just becuase it's not THEIR way. The same goes for Mhaldor! If
you are someone simple, and don't feel the need to become great in an
instant, but feeled presured by Mhaldor's strict ways and harsh
punishments, and feel held back because you have to conform to thier
ways, DON'T! Advancement of the SELF is all that matters. You shouldn't
have to conform to an ideal to better yourself. Why does greatness have
to be Good or Evi

2) The City-States are worthless

Not in the way you think. Sure to it's citizens, the Citys are grand, or
even home, but in a whole, they serve no purpose. Mhaldor and Shallam
are constantly fighting, and anyone who even so much as speaks to either
becomes enemied from the opposite. Mhaldor requires you to become
powerful, restricted by your entire devotion to it's Lords. Shallam
requires you stay at peace with the Church, and side with Good, and
follow thier laws. Ashtan sides with Chaos, claiming freedom, yet
citizens can murder each other, steal from each other, or anyone else,
and gainse the ire of Shallam as well. Ashtan is not freedom, it's a
prison. Sure, do what you want, just be sure you don't anger someone,
and oh, yeah, if you get robbed, killed, or harrassed, tough luck. If
that is Ashtan's way, then it is not a city, it is a large group of
people doing what they want in a very large area. Ashtan, by that right,
could not even exist and still maintain those rules, and therfore
shouldn't exist, but it does. Cyrene stays in the mountains, nuetral,
and uncaring. Hashan stays out of everyone's way so much that some
people have even forgotten its existence. And Eleusis. Home of the
forestals. Nuetral to all sides, and allies with only nature, yet they
allow nature to die in the crossfire of the other cities rather than
choose a side and fight it out! When will Eleusis pick a side? They'll
wait for nature to die first, then pick a side, instead of picking a
side now and preventing destruction? The Citys have become a mess,
groups of those who fight for their beleifs, even if it means their own
destruction.

FACT

And that brings me to the conclusion of this rant. The single fact that
is undeniable. So pay attention.

1) War. Is. A. Must.

There is no peace in Sapience. Not while the beleifs of the citys
contrast and create turmoil and destruction. Now while citizens are
forced to either fear or fight the other citys, or become enemied for
belonging to a single city. Not while friends become enemies, and allies
turn. Not while the allegience of some are broken to make bonds with
another. No. There is no peace. The squabbles of the cities have gone on
long enough. It is time to put an end to these petty fights and
arguments once and for all!

Rho has claimed Chaos, Evil, and Sin, enemies of the church. Even good,
honest people are enemied just for being an occultist, or an apostate,
or simply kill a denizen, or give herbs it's enemys! Shallam sides with
the Church, enemies with Ashtan and Mhaldor. Shallam is only one city. I
say that Mhaldor and Ashtan, put aside personal beleifs and past fueds,
and start an unrelenting war on Shallam. Don't just raid, SLAUGHTER.
Mhaldor and Ashtan, side by side, sending it's soldiers into Shallam for
years on end if it takes that long! No more petty raids just for fun, or
exercise. WAR! The young in Shallam will eventually live in fear and
flee their city, and thought of growing strong only to die will stop new
citizens from joining. Eventually even the oh so mighty Shallam and
Church shall crumble! Thats two cities to one! Three if you you can
Hashan off it's humble throne to join for a peaceful future! I never
hear a single complaint against Mhaldor except from Shallam, and maybe
theiving victims. But Shallam has it's thieves too! I say, for all it's
preaching of Good, and Creation, Shallam is the only city who causes
fights on a regular basis, and creates enemies! Even now, the public
board is filled with those victimized by the church! Is that Good? Is
that Creation??? If they claim to want the best for Creation, then
Shallam should be happy to die!

I am nobody, I admit. A cityless, worthless person who has found
hapiness in little thanks to the ideals of shallam, and the bickering
between cities. I say it should stop! I say Good and Evil have been
fighting for too long, and it's about time a side WON! Start a war, and
end this. And when there is last, a victor, and the carnage has ended,
and Shallam is defeated... after the bloodshed, and the lives lost, it
will all be worth it, because at last, with the fighting over, we would
have... Peace.
