Kotyonok,

Such complete and overwhelming ignorance is surely worthy of my thousand
gold sovereigns to respond. Sovereigns, I'm sure you'll be pleased to
know, that were gained by spilling copious amounts of blood from the
various evil denizens that plague the realm.

I'm sure you'll find this informative. After all, you seem to have
completely missed the mark when attempting to learn about the various
beliefs and teachings of the realm. The first, and most important,
lesson however is this: Silence is often preferable to ignorance.
Hopefully you'll remember this, if nothing else, when you wish to
respond to me.

The Church does not control Shallam. Shallam is a fully independent
organisation with its own leaders, politicians and military force. That
the Chrysalis Basilica, the physical home of the Holy Church of Achaea,
resides in Shallam is no coincidence or elaborate Church plot - they
are, after all, two organisations who believe in Good and Light.

That many of Shallam's current leaders are members of the Church speaks
only to the fervour and dedication which members of the Church exhibit
in their following of Good. Fervour and dedication that has been
recognised, and rewarded, by the voting populace of Shallam.

The Vertani did, as you said, attempt to take over and control Sapience.
The Vertani did destroy Thera, leading to its reconstruction as New
Thera. The Vertani who reside in Tir Murann, however, hold different
beliefs to the Vertani that attempted, or did, these things. In
recognition of their difference, and their distaste with senseless
destruction, these Vertani are protected from slaughter by Church law.

The Church hasn't "taken away" hunting grounds from anybody. The Church
has removed the benefits it provides from those who choose to harm
innocents and followers of Good. Those members of Shallam and the Church
who are found to be hunting innocents are punished, and generally suffer
harsher consequences than anybody else seen to be doing so.

However, people can not be punished is the proper authorities are not
informed, and evidence is not provided. Of course, I fully understand
that people only care about this happening when it's convenient for them
- namely when they want to attempt to discredit the Church.

I assume your paragraph about burning books was a joke. After all,
nobody could ever seriously suggest that Evil, a belief system based on
the "elimination of weakness", wishes to preserve everybody who believes
differently to them.

I'm well aware that your posts were directed to Rho. However, I'd like
to take the time to point out that what Valour means to Rho is
irrelevant. I don't expect somebody who uses wishy-washy definitions of
core ideals made up to suit their purpose to understand this, but what
Valour is isn't changed by what any mortal believes it is.

Lastly, to the individual whose name I don't recall - any hatred and
distrust amongst the enemies of Good was not caused by the Church. Such
hatred and distrust is the cause of beliefs and ideals that promote
personal advancement on the backs of your peers. If it's easier to blame
the Church, however, I suppose you'll all continue to do that
regardless.
