Greetings Sapience,

Given the furore on this forum over recent events, I thought it might be
helpful to set out Hashan's formal position on the matter.

The Crown of the Ithmia has hovered on the brink of war since the
Archprelate, representing the Church, led his criminal incursion into
sovereign Hashani territory. Damage was done that day that can not be
easily undone.

Hashan is a proud city, and will brook no interference in its
independence nor any disregard for its laws.

Accordingly, we demanded of the Archprelate a number of things: first,
that financial compensation be paid as recompense to the Crown; second,
that a suitable apology be rendered to the city of Hashan both for the
act, and for further attempted interference in Hashani sovereignty and
finally, that Hashani devotionists cease to be harangued by the more
fanatical elements of the Church hierarchy.

Each of these demands has been met promptly. There was some doubt among
our citizens about the sincerity of Archprelate Rho's fulsome apology on
this forum, and it was therefore arranged that it should be repeated
before our assembled citizenry at the Crossroads, where citizens would
have the opportunity to question the Archprelate directly. I am
delighted to offer a record of this most satisfactory meeting to any one
who requests.

Having achieved all that Hashan could desire from any confrontation, we
have no need or desire to pursue any further hostilities. Those
responsible for the act will remain enemied to the Crown, and will serve
their fine and sentence as any other common criminal would.

This in no way prevents any individual citizen, and more specifically,
and member of the Revolutionaries of Chaos from continuing to pursue
personal violence against their enemies, merely that Hashan itself is
satisfied with the offered recompense.
