Rurin,
While I thank you for your response and the excuses offered for your
actions, I disagree with your attempt to draw parallels between your
situation and that of the merchants of Eleusis.
All merchants within the village of Eleusis are also Eleusian citizens.
They are granted benefit on the basis of what they provide to the
village, with consideration for their status as citizens factoring in as
well. In addition, every merchant received approval for their shops from
past Councils. They did not simply move in without permission to benefit
from the work of another.
To the best of my knowledge, you hold no citizenship in any of the
locations where you deal your wares. Semanthia shall continue to receive
my business and blessing as a citizen of Eleusis. I continue to hold out
hope that you will do the right thing and allow for patronage of your
stores once again.
In the interest of fairness, perhaps we might turn to the Merchant Lord
Himself to mediate this dispute on what is reasonable and what is not?
While the issue arose from the request made by Buckthorn, it surely has
the potential for affecting your status in numerous citystates across
the realms. The time appears to be at hand for a fair judgement in this
matter.
