A Response

Ah, Latus. You have returned to the Light's fold, I see. Forgive me, but
I tend to forget which supernatural entity has control of your malleable
soul, from one moment to the next. Regrettably, it seems that your
latest theological volte-face has failed to gift you with any more
intelligence and insight than when you served so undistinguishedly in
Mhaldor.

The Maldaathi, dear Latus, in response to just this issue refused to
fight alongside Manu, refused, in fact, to fight alongside any enemied
to our city. Their Honour demanded it. Now, I myself am Naga to the tips
of my fingers (the ones which remain, anyway). Honour is a confusing
concept for me; the ends always justify the means. But for the knightly
Houses, for Maldaathi and Guardian, Honour is life.

The Maldaathi took steps to safeguard their Honour in pursuit of Evil's
ends, will the Guardians have the moral courage to do the same in
pursuit of Good?

I doubt it. The Church and hypocrisy have been synonymous since time
immemorial. I cannot foresee that ever changing.

Yours, in thunderous disappointment,
Tenebrus Ninefingers.

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Phaestian, in the year 457 AF.
