Hail Sapience!
As most of you will no doubt be aware by now, the Spawn of Unnameable
Horror was raised today, a feat many thought impossible in the modern
era. Let this stand as notice that there is nothing that cannot be
achieved by those who follow the Seven Truths. Purity of service,
Strength and Suffering, can remove any obstacle and achieve any goal.
First, some thanks. To those in Ashtan who lived true to their founding
ideals and to one valiant soul in particular whose help was invaluable
and who deserves joint credit for this project, my grateful thanks. If
you wish your name to be made public, let me know and I shall see your
part is recorded. Secondly, to the Naga and Mhaldor, without whose
tireless assistance, this would not have come to pass.
But perhaps more importantly, some words of disgust. First for Ashtan. A
city which has been seen to lose its way and purpose for some time, but
whose relentless opposition to this project was an utter betrayal of
their founding principles. Mendax, Overseer, I will treasure always your
message to me: "Someone will raise the Spawn, one day, Tenebrus. It will
not be you".
I beg to differ.
You did everything you could to prevent this coming to pass to prevent
Chaos walking once more in the world. You set your guards to the Lonely
Hearts Orphanage, you watched and guarded your orphans. May your
wretched excuse for a city continue to atrophy and fade into
insignificance until it rediscovers its purpose. I hope you are content
in being the leader who revealed for all the utter pointlessness and
irrelevance of what was once a great city - the city of Shakti and many
others whose names will rightly live on for eternity. Without purpose,
without a reason to be, Ashtan is merely a collection of buildings, an
empty gathering of individuals pathetically grasping for meaning.
Secondly, to Shallam. Without your naievete and incompetence, without
your bumbling inattention and your fatuous, laughable attempts to stand
in my way, this would not have been possible. I salute you.
But let me reiterate once more, this was done in the service of the Twin
Lords and to demonstrate that through their teachings, all is possible.
Masters, I am your most humble servant.
