A question

To the Lord of Valour,

Hail my Lord. Your recent response on this forum to one who questioned
Your Divine patronage of the realm of Valour raised some interesting
questions. As I understand it, You objected to the capitalised use of
the term, "Valour", to which of course You retain the absolute right.

However, it cannot be that you claim Patronage over all acts of valour,
in the common sense of the word. Bravery and fortitude - honour, too -
reside in both East and West. Your honoured Sisters, Tarah, Mithraea,
also seem to patron the notion of Goodness itself adequately enough.

I suppose, m'Lord, the question I am asking, in the most respectful
manner possible, is: what are You for? What is Your purpose? If valour
is neither Good, nor Evil (and it is not - simply a tool which may be
used for either end), what does it mean to Patron the realm of Valour?

From what I hear, Your own actions too lead us to believe that valour
may not be coterminous with Valour - there is the matter of your partial
condoning of theft, and my ears in the East tell me that You have a
habit of preferring compromise to confrontation. A habit of backing down
in the face of fire, or so I'm told. Of course, I would not dream of
believing such a thing of You, but nonetheless, it makes one wonder what
on Sapience, the realm of Valour entails.

Yours, in search of enlightenment,
Tenebrus.
