Ladies and Gentlemen


I consider myself a scholar of ships, since the very first whisphers
about naval travel in something larger than a ferry my eyes have
sparkled, my searching has been intensive. Along side fellow comrades we
have done our best to find out as much as possible. We founded the
founded order of looking society to attempt to find out as much as
possible. We have had a breakthrough this month, discovering the core of
ship design and navigation!

ships
-------------

Purchasing a ship will require purchase of a ship liscence, to purchase
that you must have learned the ability found from the skill of "Nautics"
to transcendant. The liscence will cost 300,000 gold but MUST be renewed
every time your ship is sunk.

You must then proceed to the local drydock and purchase a raft, costing
500,000 gold for the bear minimums (one medium speed sail, one crewman
denizen of pressgang experience, one spare log the capacity for the raft
will be 1 person only) Using the command BUY RAFT FROM HARLEQUIN

You will be given a quest, you must deliver a single sheep to the
further island out from sapience: Elousian, to prove you have earned
your liscence. You must sail and navigate three dangers, and at one
point it is likely that your pressganged raftmate will attempt mutiny.
You must make him walk the spare log using the command WALK THE SPARE
LOG, make sure you have nothing wielded or you will walk the log
yourself and fail the test.

Picking up the wrong colour sheep, sailing into anything, going through
and red skies at night or using any musical instrument to change the
passage of time will mean you fail the test.

Attempting to steal fleeces will result in a fail too.

Return with the correct sheep and you will be given a tradein, you will
now own a ferry! you will be assigned to one point and must aid
travellers from one island to the next, being paid a modest fee for each
travel. If you still have the pressganged mate, you may now trade him in
for an oar, the oar is also likely to mutineer. You will have your
liscence revoked if you lose your passenger, leave your ferry unattended
(you can store it in a special "Ship pack" worth 300 credits) After two
years, you will be able to purchase a "junior raider scoot" ship.

Killing on the seas
-------------------

The seas are a dangerous place, before you embark on any adventure you
should pay to the shrine of the seas, the standard requirement will be
50% of what you currently own, including in banks. This will assure you
from any weather, assault or theft on the seas, you will be re-imbursed
10% of anything you lose on the seas. Except your dignity, we can't
refund that.

The seas are open to any and all slaughter except of those in the top
class "Super merchant" ship, this is more because the ship will be about
500 times the size of the starting raft. Only one person will be allowe
to own it at one time. The name of this person shall be chosen from a
hat once a decade.


Final note
----------

You may not sail your ship anywhere that has not been sailed before

You may not sail your ship for more than ten minutes before being cast
out of the sea for extended tresspass

you must pay a refresher fee of 50,000 every Achaean day to keep your
ship liscence.
