Greetings. I know this post will likely raise a few eyebrows and other
contentious mutterings, but it has to be made and I volunteered to do it
for my old and very dear friend Ayrh. As many of you may have noted, in
recent days she has not acted in the friendly, loyal, and devoted manner
we had all grown accustomed to. I blame myself for not realizing she was
in grave need of aid. I should have known long before things got out of
hand that she was in some kind of trouble. Alas though, like everyone
else, I didn't recognize what was wrong until it was too late.
A few years ago Ayrh had come to me and spoke of a ritual she was
planning to conduct. We'd worked on many together in the Order of the
Moon prior to my death and subsequent return from the Spirit realm so I
didn't think much of it at the time. She had spoken to me about feeling
the need to reconnect with Mother, that is Lady Ourania, and to redevote
herself completely to Her paths. At that time, she was hoping to connect
to the more Chaotic side of the Moon; the Dark Moon, or New Moon as I
liked to call it during my time in the Order. But unfortunately,
attempting to interact with Chaos does not always yield the results we
desire.
What transpired was a split in Ayrh's personality. She became,
literally, a new person. A second persona emerged. And it had no
intentions of being devoted to that or any Order, City, House, etc. And
the results of its wrongdoings are, by now, well known.
The true Ayrh struggled to break from the hold this new persona had on
her body and mind. And with the last burst of original energy she had,
she sent for my aid. With the aid of a few Revolutionaries, I was able
to conduct a ritual to revert her mind back to its original state
through a very intricate Entropic ritual that focused the energies
unleashed back upon themselves. Ayrh is herself once again, but now
stands as an outcast do to her 'other' persona's actions.
I know that what she's done can never be undone. The gold is gone and
she has no memory of spending it. She can barely recall leaving her
beloved City and House. Obviously, I empathize with her because she is
my friend. But also because I know firsthand of the power of Chaos
rituals. Pacts made within the sacred circle of Chaos are binding and
their effects, though often wondrous and knowledge rendering, are never
predictable. Although its outcome was not what she had hoped for, I
applaud her efforts to embrace Chaos and welcome her fully realized self
with open arms to the Revolution.
Her only desire was to worship the Moon. Such is Chaos that her actions
led to an alternate path. She is no longer a threat. We've bound the
part of her that broke loose and separated it from her being. I hold its
essence in safekeeping. Even if she cannot be forgiven, my hope is that
those who understand Change might recognise the truth in these
statements and allow her to begin to rebuild her life. If you cant find
it in your heart to forgive my friend, which I can certainly understand
and I mean no disrespect to your loss, please at least be aware of the
circumstances that led to her actions. She is as shaken as you are by
what transpired.
