Excommunication

Compassion: a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is
stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the
suffering.

Synonyms include: commiseration, mercy, tenderness, heart, CLEMENCY

Clemency: disposition to show forbearance, or forgiveness in judging or
punishing, leniency, mercy.

Lady Tarah represents the ideals of Harmony and Compassion, one of which
I have extrapolated upon. And yet, She accepts and even promotes the
practice of excommunication based upon, not actions threatening to the
unity of the Church or the wellbeing of its members - a fitting cause
for such a severe punishment - but rather on who the "transgressor"
chooses to grant the benefits of their powers of healing and aid, a most
merciful act. I, myself, am having difficulty conforming that to either
Harmony or Compassion. There is already a deity of Justice and
Retribution, is there not? I would think that this sort of issue would
fall under their dominion. And yet, it is being forwarded by a Goddess I
would expect, of all things, to promote caution and seek to find a more
peaceful solution. Alas, it would seem my idea of religion is fast
becoming outdated. I pray I will find no such ambiguities where I invest
my faith.

Penned by my hand on the 12th of Ero, in the year 436 AF.
