Erisycthon,
As reluctant as I am, both as a person and as a family member, to thrust
myself into this situation, let me clarify one thing for you, and
hopefully explain how your comparing us to Mhaldor is untrue. Oakstone
has a task - protect the forests. To help accomplish this, Oakstone made
a rule - do not destroy rooms with the holocaust skill, or any others.
This rule is perfectly reasonable in my opinion, and I can't see how one
would say otherwise. Now, when you holocausted in the Shallamese
subdivisions, you broke this rule. The rule has no "Unless" clauses.
Oakstone, I assume, figures that it's better that it's better to enemy
somebody for something they didn't deserve, than to allow somebody to
slip through a loophole in the law - a law is as strong as it is simple.
This was nothing personal - you broke the law, you were punished.
The reason that your comparison is inacurate is because although Mhaldor
does strictly enforce certain policies, the ones that I at least find
unreasinable are the ones that are not clear cut. Skipping in Mhaldor is
grounds for enemying - this is clearly stated, I believe. Although I may
find this rule unreasonable, it is still my responsobility to follow it.
I chose to do so by avoiding such rules by not going to Mhaldor much.
I am sorry about what has occured, and hope that we can meet once again
in the heart of the Forests some day.

Yeshaya Distara, Chosen of Phaestus

P.S. To avoid this in the future - don't prism or portal and immediately
holocause if you don't know where you will come out.

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Ero, in the year 431 AF.
