Not that I'm all that surprised.

Its funny isn't it? (And I don't mean funny "Ha ha", I mean it more in a
sad sense of the word). People in Shallam leaving the city, quitting
their positions of leadership and why? Because the person they wanted to
win did not win. Honestly, I thought you (and by you, I mean those who
are quitting) were devoted to and Ideal. To a dream of what Shallam
SHOULD be, not to a single person. Perhaps you had so much hope in one
person that you simply cannot believe that anyone else could do it
better. Its a shame, really, to give up so easily. If you truly wanted
to make Shallam a better place then you would stick around.

But you have always been riddled with inner turmoil, right? Being unable
to agree on exactly which version of Good Shallam should follow which I
ASSUME is why the former council was pushing to adopt the Codex of Light
as an official Shallam document. The only problem with that is that not
everyone who is Good agrees with that document, right? I mean, of course
there are some people who claim that if you are Good then you agree with
it. If you are not Good then you disagree with it. And why? Why do you
HAVE to have everything listed and written down and neatly numbered?
Doesn't the center of your being tell you "This is Good. This is not."?
Do you really need it written somewhere that to kill an innocent child
who has wronged no one is a bad thing? Do you need it written down that
to maliciously stab someone in the back after you have gained their
trust is wrong? I've never understood this about you, Shallam. You ARE
Good. You don't need anyone to tell you that you are. If you DO, then
you either A. Do not believe in yourself. Or B. You're not Good. You
know these things because you have a solid moral center. I believe that.
Somewhere deep down inside you, you want to do the right thing.
Unfortunately, you do not always let this show through. Whether it be
because your feelings are hurt or because someone made you angry, or
because you heard that this person said such and such about so and so
who is your brother's wife's sister's son and by the Gods they're going
to pay for it. Come on.

Many people have been hurt all around and many people have been
disappointed. They have felt betrayed. They have felt outraged (I had to
say that because I've noticed that any time anyone gets angry it is an
"outrage!" and I think that's funny, but anyways). Wow, I think that if
everyone who felt these things quit, there would not be a person left in
Shallam.

Of course, some of you will read this post and think (and probably say,
you might even say it here and that is fine and dandy) "This is an
outrage! (hehe) She's not GOOD, how dare she tell ME what to do!" Well,
then I'll just say this: If someone who you do not consider Good is
reprimanding you for giving up on the ideals you claim to love so
dearly, what exactly does that say about you?
