And you are assuming that there are not those helping quietly, who make no noise about it, but do whatever they can to aid in this crisis, who seek no fame, or recognition, but labor behind the scenes with great intensity and determination.

I know personally several non-druids who are assisting in this way, not expection thanks, but certainly not expecting rejection either. You must do as you see fit, just remember you don't always know all the facts, and a global pronouncement hurts friends as well as those who stand back and do nothing or aid in the crisis.
