A response

Hail, Lady Miramar!

You honour me with Your response, and I thank You for it.

I fully agree with Your statement that Shallam and the Church should no
longer be organisations that simply roll over to their enemies. A good,
even fight is always preferable to an effortless slaughter. I relish the
thought of proper, honourable combat between the two cities. Perhaps
this is indicative that the city will now acquire a backbone and respond
to Mhaldor's formal declarations of war?

As for my feelings towards the new law, I do not believe it will keep
out any Mhaldorian who is intent on slaughtering within the walls. It
will definitely not keep me out if my blades feel the thirst for
Shallamese blood once more. Who it will keep out are the young
Mhaldorians, the ones still coping with Mhaldor's ways. Ironically, the
ones most easily influenced by Shallam's lies. I truly applaud this law
banning them from entering Shallam, as it will prevent them from having
their mind poisoned and will make them more determined to uphold the
Truths of Mhaldor.

I do however have to apologize if it seemed that I was presuming to know
Your realm. I merely quoted Your Divine scroll in my post to Shallam,
and indicated that in my eyes, those of a previous Sultan and the
highest ranking member of the Church outside of the Prelates, the new
law failed against the basic premise of those quotes. Your Realm, Lady,
is naturally Your own to define and I would be so foolish as to presume
I could do it in Your stead.

Respectfully,
Sir Latus Sioraiocht

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Miraman, in the year 410 AF.
