Church Hypocrisy

Today, while I was talking to a young innocent soul new to the land with
Gawain present, this young dwarven woman asked, "Why are Templars good?"
To my utter shock, Gawain answered, "We are good becuase we kill occultists,
kharon and serpentlords." Of course, I had to point out that in my opinion
the Templars are evil. Why do I feel that way? Obviously, in their twisted
teachings, the Church seems to teach that occultists are evil, and one would
presume from Gawain's comment, that they also teach kharon and serpentlords
are evil. In other words, the Church seems to take it for granted that they
are "good" and certain others are "evil" and that is justification enough
to continue their campaign of bribery, breaking and entering, thieving,
and cold-blooded murder. Their actions, I believe, speak for themselves.

Regarding the Kharon/Sentaari feud, I wish to point out that I have always
maintained a friendship with both Changcoix and Kothlun. When their feud
heated up, I told both that I would remain neutral as I did not wish to
jeopardize either of their friendships. I believe both of these gentlemen
understood this. As a guild, the Occultists hold no malice towards either
of the monk guilds. Although their may be hostilities between certain
individuals, this certainly is not indicative of a guild policy. However,
it came to my attention that a certain Sentaari was killing very young
Occultists. Since that time, one of the Occultists, having mastered certain
of the arcana that we teach, sought revenge for the injustice done to him
when he was very young. However, such behavior as killing extremely young
members of a guild must be looked as an affront to the guild itself. Even
so, especially since one of the occultists that was attacked when he
was young sought revenge on his own initiative, I was willing to let the
matter slide. Now, however, I was "jumped" by the team of Gawain and
Aeschylus. Gawain obviously thinks I am evil in his twisted mind, but why
Aeschylus the Sentaari monk? I was especially surprised by Aeschylus'
actions since I had cordially offered to spar with him upon request and
he knows I have never held any malice or disrepsect for him. Thus, it is
my only, regrettable conclusion that the Sentaari have declared an
alliance with the Templars and are now openly hostile to the Occultists.

With this being the case, I have no choice but to ally myself with the
Kharon in what only can be seen as pure self-defense given these
circumstances. My only hope is that Kothlun, my old friend, can shed
some light on these events. And, to show my good faith in an effort
to bring peace to all my friends among the monks, I respectfully offer
to mediate and arbitrate a peace between the Kharon and Sentaari.
