The Current State of Affairs

Dearest Ourania and the city you call home,

It must truly fill You with pride when you look upon the stellar defence
of the city You patron, does it not? It seems that their foolproof
defence against the subjugation of their forces is to cower behind the
false hope that You and Matsuhama will not allow them to be defeated. A
fascinating strategy though it is, I would hope You will encourage them
to be a bit more proactive in this conflict. While they seem to have
placed all faith in the pen being mightier than the sword, they will
soon discover the edge of a blade is far more painful than mere words.
So, dearest Ourania, You currently patron one of the houses in Ashtan
and I encourage You to perhaps consider a move to a new locale. You will
find other cities much more pleasant, and will even notice that some who
reside in this realm have an interesting skeletal addition called a
backbone. You do not want to be associated with what Your precious
Hashan has become, so please seek Me out so we may discuss arrangements
for Your movement to a more worthy home.

Finally to my old friend, Matsuhama, of whom I have had the pleasure of
discussing many an interesting battle with. You of all people should rid
yourself of the cowardice you are now surrounded by, as it is not
befitting of the Great Battlelord. You once called Ashtan home, and now
reside within a den of those who seem reluctant to go to war even when
war has been brought within their home. I can tell this is eating you
alive right now, and as with Ourania, I hope to discuss Your movement to
another location with You as well. Don't let Your citizens use You as a
scapegoat, as victory for Your forces is near impossible. Without
guidance of any type, Ashtan has already decimated Your guards, and that
is but a mere fraction of their true force. I find it rather interesting
that while Ashtan attacks and destroys guards, the response from Hashan
has been the seizing of Ashtani owned shops and the posting of numerous
outcries against the engagement. Dear friend, leave now, save Yourself
from having to deal with them.

I will continue to watch with great anticipation for the impending
collapse of Hashan, and hope somehow you find the courage to fight back.
However, if you must sleep at night, I suppose you can rely on the
assumption that your patrons will step in to save the day. When I am
raising a glass in toast to the victorious soldiers on the burning
embers that was once your city, I will make sure you have a lovely view
of the ceremony. It is shame though that it will be from behind the
cold, lifeless eyes of your head on the end of a pike...

Sleep well, Children of Hashan.
