geraint

I think the point that Geraint might be trying to make, even though he
doesn't realize, and can't seem to articulate it, is that mortals often
associate divine punishments as being used for when mortals "act up."
Since a temple can be defended by its associated divine, it really seems
to be strange that those temples also contain defenses that can be
overcome.

So, hypothetically, if I were to enter your temple, cause some ruckous,
steal something, and leave, I'd expect mortals to come after me, you
would make some threats, try to bait me into being disrespectful, and
then disfavour/maggot/kill me. Like Sartan use to do back in the day for
example.

Instead, a person ends up raiding a temple, killing a few mortals, and
they're all proud of themselves for being a badass, then the enter the
realm a month later to find they've been punished beyond their control.

I would not presume to tell You how to do your business, but how about
instead employing a dozen demon assassins at Geraint next time to teach
him a lesson. At least he would stand a chance, as Your temple stood a
chance of avoiding desicration, had Your followers been more cautious.
This would serve to elevate the level of drama in the lands, rather than
punish its more pro-active citizens, making them bitter and spiteful.

Just a thought.
