Occultists, Chaos, and History

Greetings and good tidings to all fellow sentients.
I would not make such a public address, but I feel compelled
to do so in light of this recent squabble.
First, I do not feel this issue started as a debate, nor has it
developed into a debate. It started with Madus professing his
own views on Occultists, Occultism, Chaos, and History, yet
they come across as statements of 'fact', which, I am sure, we can
all agree are nothing of the kind. Indeed, these are subjects
that are always being debated, for there is no certainty of
knowledge, as the Divine themselves have professed, and as the
written History itself admits.
Thus, I think it best if we recognise and accept that discussion
rather than profession is the best method when dealing with such
topics.
Regarding the history of enmity between the Occultists and others,
if you read the History and the Help scrolls more carefully, you will
see that there did not exist an Occultist Guild at that time. In fact,
one reason why the Guild was created was to prevent such aggression
from occurring in the future.
Regarding Occultism and Chaos, as others have mentioned, there are
many written and unwritten sources of information on these subjects.
Nevertheless, while your ideas may be valid, they do not seem to
be as developed nor supported as the sources to which I allude.
I admit my message has now become cryptic, but I must confess that
such is how I prefer to be: encourage others to learn for themselves
rather than teach or be taught. There are two sayings that spring
to mind: "One can never teach nor be taught anything; one can only
learn,"
and, "The truly enlightened would never dare claim they are enlightened,
for there is always more to learn."
I must now apologise if my next words sound elitist or conceited in
any way:
If you had joined the Occultist Guild's various discussions, debates,
and lectures, and if you had read our books and scrolls, and if you had
taken our tests, you would know not only the reason for such discussions
and pursuit of theory, nor even merely the reason for perceived
crypticism and elitism, but also the answers to your questions, and,
perhaps, clarifications to your semi-developed ideas.
I thank you for your time and consideration in reading this message.
To all Occultists and those considering joining our ways:
Everyone is always welcome, at least to try, and at least in my eyes.
(Please note that I do not speak on behalf of my Guild, but I will
support my statements within the Guild, as I have already done.)
Sincerely,
--V'rax'l'striss
