Welcome

Addressed to: Kastalia, Goddess of Lakes and Rivers
Lady Kastalia, Daughter of the Moon and Sea, I extend a sincere welcome
to these realms on behalf of the City of Ashtan, where the waters of
life flow freely.
A Child of Lunar Water, you are a product of the sea's surface rising
and falling in harmony with the moon. Many have faith in the old tales
that before creation there was only a substance similar to water, the
pure potential of ebb and flow. As the Mythos tells us, Ayar radiated
over this substance, gathered it into His hands and from it created all
things. All things are a part of it now, but it is said that the water,
which flows where it will, rides over the embankments after a hard rain,
shapes the land around it, and rises into the sky to fall down upon us
when we least expect it, is the element that has preserved the most of
that original substance.
Watching a leaf flow down stream, I see it gently twirl along, dancing,
and then it is gathered beneath the water's current. And yet the water
lily floats gracefully, holds its beauty amidst the forces that work
upon it both above and below the surface. Your realm is reminiscent of
the freedoms we share and celebrate in the Bastion and also of the
origin of all things; a return to potential. Lake Balaton and the river
Acra await your explorations, my Lady.
Penned by my hand on the 9th of Phaestian, in the year 394 AF.
