The Plague Part 3 - Addendum 4

Greetings all,
This is in addition to Blackharps earlier postings, and combines all
mine and his knowledge, in addition to a few other peoples.
Firstly, NO sort of dying cures the plague. Having voluntarily infected
myself with the plague to help study it, i have died 4 times in a
variety of interesting ways, with a number amusing things happening to
my body. Nothing removes it, or at least not via death.
Secondly, shield does NOT prevent symptoms. Reflections still do, but
shield doesn't.
Thirdly, Dragonheal, basking, fool tarot, Kai Heal. None of thse heal
the plague, i don't believe that ANY skill actually does. However, they
can alleviate the symptoms, and basking, at least for me, stopped the
rapidity of the symptoms hitting me for a while, so i suggest it does
help.
While we are talking about symptoms, a symptom not yet mentioned by
Blackharp is that of Epilepsy. Unfortunatly, we do not have the actual
symptom message malarky for it, but it basically involves foaming at the
mouth. Another one is having a blackout. These will make you fall over
as well, and are NOT fun while bashing.
Also, the rates at which symptoms affect you are varying hugely. I have
had reports of people having 4 different afflictions in a single Achaean
Day, with others going up to 6, 7 days with no afflictions. So don't
think you aren't infected just because you haven't had a single
affliction yet.
Moving away from the actual plague for a minute, brief information on
what people have found out to do with the source, etc. Last month,
myself, Kard, Kragoth, Lam and a few others went hunting for this "tear"
we searched the Zaphar from top to bottom, and found nothing. We have
also checked another "tear", the membrane, and found nothing untoward.
If anyone can think of any other tears in reality, please check them out
and let either myself or Blackharp know.
Otherwise, yes, Water Weirds ARE getting ill, and collapsing due to it.
How you can get infected, we do not know yet, but probably in similar
ways to the rest of us.
When you smell, scrubbing does very little, and the smell returns after
a very short amount of time. I don't know what this precisly does yet,
but it MIGHT cause loyal denizens to attack you. For those of you with
expensive things such as mounts, it MIGHT be an idea to send them to a
safe location temporarily such as a house, and avoid all contact with
them now we know that loyals are getting infected.
Nearly finished now. Ok, someone MIGHT have posted this already, but
this is our only lead so far.
.----As the petal comes into contact with the surface of the water, it
beginsto glow.---
---Tendrils of pale blue light lash out from the flower petal and
wreathe themselves throughout the cloud of sludge.--
---As the tendrils of light retreat back into the petal, they pull the
sludge with them and the delicate leaf vanishes in a radiant beacon of
light. Soon enough, all that remains is water the way nature intended
it.---
We do not know what SORT of flower this is, but we know it is a flower
none the less, and that the sludge CAN be got rid of. Please try ANY
flowers you can find at the sources of the rivers. If you do find one
that works, post at once!Currently, that is all the information
available. We are continuing to research, and will post periodically.
Non-infected people, TRY not to get infected, we have enough victims as
it is, and definetly enough test subjects. This is an epedemic, and
cannot be contained well, so infected people, PLEASE be sensible.
If you have any information, please message both myself (Laconfir) AND
Blackharp with any details. Symptom messages, new symptoms, apparent
cures, anything.
Again my thanks.
Yours in service,
Count Laconfir de Quenster.
