Skye my dear,
You and I do indeed go back a long way. Decades back, when we were young
and foolish, we both made mistakes. A catalogue in fact, and I could
shame you now by bringing them to the attention of the world - but I
don't see the point.
Your post is misleading in many different ways - impressive propaganda,
and a little bit of character assassination. This is surely not the
board for me to defend myself personally, but I will quickly do so.
You imply that I attacked the basilican gardens because I lacked the
courage to slaughter Jaruvians or fight citizens of Shallam.
You imply a failure of my intelligence in that I failed to percieve that
destroying the gardens would have me oakstone enemied.
In reply to the first point, I see no necessity to respond. History
speaks for itself. In reply to the second, I had never heard of Oakstone
- much less realised that I could be enemied to it. Ignorance, not
stupidity lead to that decision.
I don't think I said Tiamat was a 'martyr'. I said he was 'brave'.
Furthermore, yours is a grotesque overstatement. There are huge reserves
of herbs all over Sapience, and the percentage of forest Tiamat laid
hands on was hardly likely to make more of an impression beyond a
necessary wake-up call.
It saddens me that through a Deus-Ex-Machina movement of the divine, the
forestals have not had to reconsider their position, and perhaps for
once see it from the other side. Their smug, righteous conviction of
their own 'rightness' in all respects will continue to go on
indefinitely. That is a shame.
