Tyranny

Ok, a few comments. First, don't confuse immorality with Evil. Immoral
is kicking a puppy because you were paid to. Evil is doing it because
you enjoy it.
Second, it's not truly tyranny of a choice exists. Everyone chooses to
conform to something. At least Mhaldorians are straightforward enough to
use the words Tyrannus and slaves. I also note that "slaves" are not
permanent positions, but simply the first of many ranks that any person
can achieve. The fact that a person has the title "slave" and rarely
expects to keep that title their entire life kind of makes the term
"slave" more of a proper noun or an adjective, than a literal noun.
Mhaldorians give their subjects a very specific set of rules to live by.
If they adhere to them, fine. If they don't like them, they leave. They
don't join a city that looks down at them when they involve themselves
in affairs outside of the city. And they don't pretend to be an open
society without the metaphorical "chains."
Personally, I only kick puppies for money. But to know that I could kick
one if I felt like it is comforting.
