Ashtan and gleam

Dearest Reina,

Rest assured, if the production of gleam was sanctioned by the Bastion
of the North, you would not have to search far and wide for a vendor.
Gleam stalls would be proudly placed at every street corner, their wares
brightly packaged and stamped with the city's official seal of approval.
No mere orphan offal would be used either, only the freshest choice
ingredients.

Hopeful consumers would not have to pay through the nose either!
Mass-production methods would allow the price to be lowered to the point
where everyone could enjoy the benefits of gleam, in their very own
home! Gleam for the masses, just imagine.

Sadly, this is not the case.

I must correct your mistaken assumption that Ashtan and the Loving
Hearts Orphanage are involved in the production of gleam. While the
footpads once resident in the Descent of Ashtan's north did indeed sell
gleam several years ago, the city of Ashtan was not at all involved in
this. Nor was the Orphanage - those responsible belonged to the
malevolent crime syndicate troubling the Basion at the time. As i'm sure
all those with the benefit of having sampled gleam now know, no Ashtani
is involved in the sale or distribution of the product.

My condolences go to you, Priestess Reina, it is a tragedy that your
experiences with gleam were not enjoyable. If the Bastion of the North
were in charge, I am sure you would be able to receive a free refund on
the unused portion of your product! But, as I said, the city is not.

I thank you, Reina of Shallam, for bringing this issue to the public's
eye, and allowing the matter to be clarified. To the rest of Sapience, I
thank you for your time spent reading this, and hope your gleam
experiences are not as unpleasent as poor Reina's.
