There are a few possible reasons that some of you out there like to be
Jester Pesters, and I will address them all in the hope that all of you
fall into at least one category.
The first reason that I can see for these actions is that the Jesters
are seen as an easy target. Many in the guild are not strong fighters,
(though surely there are a few exceptions), we have a guildhall that is
relatively easy to break into, and we have no city to defend us. If this
is your reasoning, that you are bored, and the Jesters seem like the
best target, I ask you this: Is that the best you can come up with? The
rational that the Jesters are the easiest target, and should therefore
be attacked regardless of the fact that, because of our neutrality, you
likely have no major disputes with the guild as a whole. Find yourself a
real enemy, and go at it, maybe then people will actually respect your
skills and you won't have to find someone smaller to bother because it
makes the pain of your low self esteem go away for a few moments.
The second reason that I can come up with is that you have taken some
issue with a few jesters in particular. Perhaps you find them (us,
depending on the issue) to simply be annoying, or perhaps you have a
real reason. In any case, I can assure you that you are more than
welcome to bash the offending party's brains in to your hearts content.
If they deserve it, I won't try to stop you. Sitting in a guildhall and
laughing about how cool it makes you is sadly not an effective way to
deal with your petty squabbles.
The third reason, and the one that I find most likely, is that you are
bored and want someone to come fight you. You then see the Jesters as a
target that is easy to strike, because of the reasons mentioned in the
first issue. You then hope that we will strike back at you, and you'll
get a little war. Good luck with that one, it won't be happening. If you
do not understand why, I point you to the wise words of our founder,
Silvestri Carnivalis. He told us, "I hope that you will never take
yourselves too seriously, for to do so is to lose your sense of humour,
perhaps irreversibly. Just look at the Occultists." Now, that quote may
have targeted the occultists 80-some years ago when he wrote it, but you
can just substitute in the name of whatever enemy we have today. If we
were to go about making a big fight with every ignisignificant little
annoyance that came our way, we would have lost our sense of humor. If
you guys really want a war, perhaps you should find an enemy that you
have a reason to fight.
Now, I'm sure someone will come up and say, "You got it all wrong, we
have this amazingly creative reason for wanting to kill you!" To that
person I say, "I don't care." I really don't.
Anyway, I hope that clears things up for you all, have fun trying
desperately to make yourselves feel loved, or whatever it is you in your
spare time.
