Fortresses and Temples

I have made it clear over and over that by the very laws of this
plane, our fortress was not placed in a temple, or on property
which a temple may rightfully defend, totem, etc. Not one voice
has been raised to contradict this.

Nevertheless, private requests were made that we attempt to find
some sort of accomodation. And dire warnings of the repercussions
if we should continue in this act of placing our fortress there
(despite its being declared fully legal by your plane's laws)!

Today I announce our accomodation. Today I announce that we have
found a way to move ahead. Our fortress has not moved, but its
entrance has been turned towards the northeast where it gives out
upon the prelatorian road near the Crystal Leaf Inn. Though some
portion of the fortress may remain partly visible from the path
it should no longer be any sort of barrier to those who are openly
at war with Vertan but wish to visit the nearby temple.

We have sought for peace.

We have moved our fortress at horrific expense to us to try to
bring about peace.

In the time since the abortive summit, we have offered to rebuild
Thera.

The Overlord responsible for Thera was exiled to our provinces,
and we have apologised repeatedly for the error.

In that same time we have been raided repeatedly but have not
raided in return, however well justified that would have been.

Now we have opened a new accessway to our fortress and closed the
old, although the previous location was completely legal by this
plane's own laws.

We have offered peace, cessation of hostilities, and even alliance
to the several cities of Sapience.

All these offers have, to date, been rebuffed. To be fair, some
still consider the possibilities.

The record is clear enough. We have extended the olive branch.

Penned by my hand on the 12th of Lupar, in the year 387 AF.
