Vertani worries

Dear Beloved Town,
My boyfriend says I'm shy, but I'm not so much shy, as that I like to
observe and make up my mind before speaking up.
A number of months ago there was a summit in the Crystal Leaf Inn. At
that time I was not in the realm but I entered the realm when it was
coming to a bloody close. I had just taken some skullcap and I will
think twice before doing that as I almost went into a stupor when I saw
all the death and dying happening through my link with Thoth.
Later I heard through the reports of Mossis how the summit went and got
a nagging feeling that something is going to go wrong in the future.
The feeling still lingers even though about 10 months have already
passed.
I'm not a fighter, in fact I hate PK and will only bash evil creatures
as they seem to be most likely to have a disregard for that which I hold
most dear. Nature.
The words from the departed Estan, overlord at that time, were also
recited by Delphinus on the city channel. He called us "filthy
barbarian". I'm not bristled by it, it just goes to show how little they
know us and our civilisation. It however also shows the regard they have
for us. Which seems to be little. I agree with Greyda at that time, she
warned us not to take the words personally because we don't know, and
never will know, who the overlord was referring to.
Yet the thing that worries me most is their attitude. And that which
they have already accomplished. I look fearfully into the sky every time
another meteor comes crashing down. The Vertani seem to be a part of a
huge empire, set on conquest. They have gained a foothold in our world
and I fear that if they begin building their fortresses around our world
then all of Achaea will likely be in danger of being overrun.
Actually this is one of the reasons my vote in the referendum was Aye. A
treaty with the cities will unite at least some of us. Ashtan and
Mhaldor in their rashness have already acted against the Vertani. We
bide our time. I do not comment on that position, as I am also one to
observe before speaking my mind, as I told you in the beginning of this
post.
The thought however does not leave my mind that we might have to react
sooner than later on the Vertani matter.
If the Vertani and their terrible weapons intend to implement their
empire's expansion urges as they have already done with decidedly
Achaean places like Tasur'ke and el'Jazira. Then who says they will stop
there. I do not intend to live in the Great Vertani empire, neither do I
think a grand empire will care about our forests if they think they will
need another town filled with Vertani soldiers. In fact I think Nature
will suffer most when the dust has settled after the Vertani stampede.
Please consider my thoughts here, I do not intend to pressure anyone
into action, but I will be more than happy to help when it comes to
that.
Love,
A worried Julya
P.S. My apologies for this long first post of me, I wished I could have
been shorter in this, but then my intentions might have been
misunderstood.
