The rebuilding of Thera

Should we really rebuild Thera from the ruins that it has become? I do
not agree with the Vertani actions, but the ruins stand as a reminder of
what has happened here, the mistakes that have been made by -all- of us.
The Vertani have kindly offered to help rebuild Thera but I do not think
it should.

Thera lies as a shadow of its former self, and I agree that the
survivers need a home to call their own. I can not speak for the Theran,
but if my home was destoryed, my mayor lie in her eternal peaceful
sleep, resting knowing she did right for her people, I would not want to
build my home there again, live in a place where my friends and family
died. To build another village on the skelton of the old would be a
curse.

I believe the ruins of Thera are sacred land for those that it affected
(which Im fairly confident in including so many of us). The Vertani
should remove their fortress there, it is a continued insult to Theran's
people for it to remain. Let us travel there for pilgrimage and silent
mourning. Let it stay as a place for future children of the survivers to
come and pay their own respect.

Thera destruction caused the deaths of so many, mere buildings will not
bring them back.
