Which Gods really support the attack on Thera

Over recent days, following the destruction of Thera, I have heard, both
on public news and through more private channels of communication,
people suggest that the followers of Lady Makali (of which I count
myself as a member) should not condemn the tragedy that occured, because
it was a show of the force of destruction. Others have seuggested
similiarly that the act was also evil, and perhaps sinful, and that the
followers of Sartan and Lady Indrani should also appreciate such a show.
I will admit, I too wondered about this when I first heard of the
tragedy, but I did not run to the public news to fling accusations. I
instead went and rexamined the teaching of these Divine, and found that
a simple bit of reading and speaking with my superiors in Lady Makali's
order cleared my confusion. I do not place much blame on those who spoke
about these issues, as their minds were surely clouded by the immense
stress of seeing a place we all loved brought to ruin. That all said, I
thought I would go ahead and use the same glib interpretations of the
various Divine's realm to place the blame where it -truely*- belongs.
Lord Vastar, Lord of the Skies. Where did the meteors come from? That's
right, the skies. Why aren't the followers of Lord Vastar out worshiping
this magnificent display of the might of his realm?
Lady Miramar, Lady of Justice. Was not this attack an attempt to bring
justice for the loss of Overlord Estan? Why aren't the followers of Lady
Miramar praising this powerful display of effective Justice?
Lady Tarah, Lady of Harmony and Compassion. Was not this attack an
attempt to convince us to stop fighting? To bring about membership in
the Vertani Empire for all residents of Sapience? It seems to me that
such a goverment (on emperor) would create much less conflict and thus
much more Harmony. The followers of Lady Tarah should be out urging us
to join the Vertani Empire.
Lord Aegis, Lord of War. Certainly this event is war at its finest, the
destruction of an entire village as a display of raw power, intended to
intimidate the opposition into surrender. Certainly the follows of War
must be applauding this masterful strike.
Lord Prospero, Merchant Lord. What better opportunity for profit than in
the rebuilding of a town. There are so many places in which profit could
be gained from this event. Millions and millions of gold will be spent
and who knows better how to earn that gold than the followers of Lord
Prospero. Certainly they should be rejoicing in this wonderful chance
for profit.
Lady Ourania, Lady of the Moon. Were not these meteors simply smaller
versions of the Moon? Her followers should be rejoicing in the power
that the night sky holds.
Well then, that was fun. I think we've all learned where to point the
finger of blame.
Before you get mad at me and write copious posts telling me how stupid I
am, I will point out that the above is satire, it is not reflective of
my views nor is it reflective of realms of the Divine mentioned, for
whom I hold nothing but the utmost respect.
For those of you who still believe that this event is what Lady Makali
is all about, I urge you to read Her help scroll. She teaches us that
destruction must be balanced by renewal and change. This is best stated
in the quote from that scroll, "One edge of Her blade cuts with
dissolution, loss and separation, the other: renewal and
transformation." The event in Thera is lacking the second half of the
cycle. Senseless, empty destruction is not what I understand Lady Makali
to be about.
