If you are waiting for the Vertani to come out and say 'we hate all that
is good and virtuous and light' so that you can have your justification
for entering this battle, it won't be coming.

Hingar is a professional liar. He is a diplomat. Not a fool. If you
continue to wait for his official word on matters, all you will hear
will be honey-coated words from a silver tongue.

That said, i'm so glad that the leadership of Shallam can convince
themselves they are doing the right thing, by constantly protesting that
the 'right' people have not yet been attacked. That Therans 'had it
coming'. That Ashtan and Mhaldor 'deserve' all that they have received.
Good work. Perhaps this ignorance will hide the dagger from you when it
comes flying towards your back.
