In the past i have posted in defense of the Vertani... I feared racism,
and a rush to war. I know now i misjudged them, and for that I am sorry.
Hingar claims that Mhaldor and Ashtan struck first at the summit, but
this is not so. A vertani mage attacked Jarrel at the summit. The
Vertani think themselves benevolent and beyond our strength, but in our
world they will never beat us. We are a people of both faith and
violence. We spend our lives fighting and honing our skills, and when we
die our faith brings us back to Sapience. There is no defeating such a
culture. The time for talk died with Estan. Let them see our true fury
and force. Let the invaders know our violence. If we are barbarians,
then so be it! Let it be all the more humiliating when they fall at the
hands of our barbaric hoardes. Today we are not a collection of city
states. Today we are more than just our villiages. We are now a nation
unified in the heat of war, and as such let them know the bloodlust of
Sapience! I will die again and again to defend not just Cyrene, but my
world, and my way of life... I know there are many others who would do
the same. If we fight we don't fight for just our own ideals. We fight
for Sarapis, and His world!
