Greetings Sapience,

I have for the most part, sat and watched from a neutral angle, the
activities of the Vertani thus far. I have respectfully asked Hingar for
clarification and been respectful and forthcoming at all times. However,
the more I observe the more I watch as these Giants slowly deteriote
that which I love into waste. Now they have utterly destroyed Thera, in
what appears to be a simple display of force to intimidate those of us
who have thus far refused to be part of the 'empire.'

As an Achaean, a citizen of Sapience, I find this intolerable. Those who
know me well know that I am a fair, a just, and a peaceful man. I opt
for discussion over war, for I find that peace brings out the best in a
man's soul. However, these Vertani are oppressing that which I treasure
more than peace. Freedom. Right now my Achaean brethren you are free to
choose to be that which you are. Free to be 'evil' or 'good', free to be
'light,' and free to be 'dark.' Many of us often take these freedoms for
granted, but I fear now comes a time where our right to these freedoms
may come under fire. For all those who love their homes, their ways,
their family, and the golden sun that basks our brow during our long
hard ventures, tis time that we prepare to defend our homes and our
life. Tis time, simply, to prepare.

That said, the Republic of Achaea has been founded, to pose as a force
-ready- to defend against any further onslaught from the Vertani. To be
used as a bargaining tool at the table when we talk with them. Just now
is not yet the time to escalate to a full war, this I do believe. But
now -is- the time to quickly prepare, and to quickly band together as
one world, and one people.

We are a represantitive republic, who will move forward as a unite,
though I am the voice of this clan, the people are the leaders, and
executioners of this cause. Brothers and sisters, this is your realm, I
hope that you are all prepared to defend it if it must come to this.
Thera was a peaceful town, one which never harmed a soul, aside from
that crazed Auntie Maim. Today we lost a town which has been long with
us, brothers and sisters that have long toiled the fields of Sapience
along our side. We lost these people due to elitism, and our acceptance
of such behaviour. I understand not all will agree with what I do, and I
understand why. I can only hope I am right in my actions to attempt to
band us together. I do this out of love for the lives of all.

That said, if you wish to play a role in this movement, ask any of the
names under CLANHELP AWAKE to become a member of this organization. We
will need warriors, ambassadors, and magicians to help protect our
lands. Our goal is not bloodshed, but preservation of life, liberty, and
the rights of free-will. Freedom to follow more than "One", freedom to
be more than "servants", and the freedom to "serve" that which we wish
to serve. I look forward to standing beside all of you, in our strive to
end this encroachment.
