Dispelling Illusions...

Greetings Sapience,
In this time of uncertainty, I thought I would share something that
allows me to live each day to its fullest:
In my days roaming through Sapience, I have often had time to wonder on
issues regarding different aspects of our existence. As each of our
lives are so shaped, my life is the product of the relationships and
experiences that I have come across. Many have been for the betterment
while several have had quite negative impacts upon my life. Such events
shape us all and make up the tapestry of life.
One of the things that has happened in my life is that I have entered
the Spirit Realm. Long ago in a selfish and horrible act, I took my own
life and rightfully I was denied rebirth in the Logosian Cave. There I
remained for many years before I awoke on the shore of Ulangi with nary
a clue as to why I had been cast back to the mortal coil.
Why do I tell you this? It's a very good question and one that I think
of often. I want to tell you how it is that I came to return to
Sapience, how my breath once again filled my lungs. It matters for in
this tale I hope to dispel an Illusion that I once clung to.
After Awakening, I had no memory of anything from the moment I plunged a
dagger into my heart. My body was still racked with the wounds afflicted
upon myself before I died. I will spare Sapience the gory details of
finding my way forth, but I shall tell you that I did discover Who had
granted me life anew. This Divine showed Compassion in allowing me to
return to make up for the mistakes that I had made most notably my
selfish end.
Before I had died, I had seen this Divine as Evil. I had thought that
They walked a dark path. In retrospect, had I opened my mind I would
have realized that They were in no way Dark nor Light They just were and
They just did what needed to be done.
You may have guessed from my title of who I speak. It is Lord Thoth, the
Endbringer.
Regard: An elderly uncle is facing another winter, struggling against
the horrid Mhun flu. His suffering is endless, his breaths ragged and
his dreams fevered. Lord Thoth will come for this man and will comfort
him in his journey to the Spirit Realm.
Regard: An ancient battle wages between the forces of good and evil and
the battlefield is littered with thousands of fallen soldiers. The din
of the war has passed and there is only the aftermath, those soldiers of
good and evil dying in the remants of their trade. Whom does Lord Thoth
welcome to the Spirit Realm? He welcomes all home.
These are not the actions of an Evil Divine. These are actions of
compassion. The realm of Death is inevitable, we all march towards that
future point and it is the final destination for all mortals. I have
learned that Death is not to be feared, for it is inevitable. Lord Thoth
is inevitable. At some point we all will go past the Logosian Cave and
Lord Thoth will welcome us home.
Think of Nature. In order for new life to prosper, old life must be
cleared away. If this did not happen, there would be countless fully
grown elks clearing away all of the groves in Sapience. Lord Thoth
recognizes this and in His wisdom He comes forth and takes away the old
and infirm, those taken in hunting accidents and the likes.
I wish only to show you that Lord Thoth is not an evil Divine. He does
not plan to come forth and tear lives asunder. In fact Lord Thoth wants
all to fill their lives with as much as possible, to make the most of
their time on the mortal coil. For one day, we all shall shed the husks
of our corporeal form and step brilliantly into His realm. He comes for
that which is His.
The moral of this story is: live each day fully and do not squander your
time on this coil. Live each day as if it is your last, for while Lord
Thoth is not Evil, Lord Thoth is inevitable. His Compassionate Gift to
you is the knowledge that one day He will come to bear you across the
threshold to the Spirit Realm.
Live each day to its fullest, Sapience. Compassion as you pass is your
reward!
