A message from Overlord Estan, of the Vertani Empire.

Written by: Sethrin, the ore merchant
Date: Tuesday, December 28th, 2004
Addressed to: Perditionary Overlord Ramoor

Ramoor, the Vertani are not my leaders. I have merely struck a mutually
beneficial relationship with them, for they are rich in certain ores
that they have little use for but that I may profit from. Similarly, I
have learned their language well, while they decline to use an inferior
language, so they must employ a translator.

People of Mhaldor. Your leaders and certain firebrands amongst you
endanger the well-being of all your citizens. We know not which of you
will strike from the shadows and so must consider all of you our
enemies, unfortunate though that is.

But know this: It is not too late to change your leadership, and choose
a man or woman of honour and courage, rather than a slinking pustule of
infection and disease. One who will lead your city into a glorious
future rather than the path into inevitable decline that you are on now.

The Vertani and the people of el'Jazira are allies, and we of the
Vertani, while desiring nothing but peace, will take measures to defend
our allies if need be.

For General Luftyr's death, a price has yet to be exacted, and rest
assured: That bill will be paid.

Penned by my hand on the 13th of Lupar, in the year 381 AF.
