What always made Mhaldor strong and what will keep her strong despite
it's overbearing weaknesses, is the blind faith you taunt them for. It's
not that the citizens of Mhaldor are mindless meatpuppets for Cains
personal amusement... no. (well.. some maybe but, not overall) They are
rooted in their beliefs as taught by Lord Sartan-- and are not (on the
whole) dragged into the political muck of most cities snitty-sniping one
another over ridiculous and often unimportant issues. They recieve their
orders, they get to work and they don't question because they've mostly
all watched what the rest of the cities of Sapience have done with their
so-called democracy and what that's done to the state of their City.
Many moved specifically to Mhaldor to get out of that. I have a great
amount of respect for what Mhaldor is able to accomplish with their
small number and limited resources. Everyone -should- despite your
feelings on what they believe in. Personal Religion is not for you to
judge. The Judges reside in the Garden-- and we are all their pawns
anyway so what makes any one of you capable of judgement upon another?
Lots of people have made various types of comments for and against
Carmell based on her choices. Carmell responds with an explanation and
the simple phrase, "A Mistake is Mistake" gifted upon her by someone
very special to her. Right on cue, a whole post-war about about 'blind
followers' and what not ensues bickering about the most inarguable
topic. Personal Relgious Beliefs.
There really is no such thing as "Conversion"anyway. People make their
own choices based on their own beliefs, and if they are coerced into
making them instead of choosing of their own drives, then they make
flimsy and baseless choices that will in time falter, and die. Let it
lie.
What it all boils down to is--- Are you in charge of your own destiny,
or are you a pawn to be played with?
Penned by my hand on the 19th of Miraman, in the year 381 AF.
