I have been reading through the public board on what happened with
Angaril, then reading the rest of posts which where mostly hate messages
from one band to the other, then a sensible post by Nican on Good and
Evil. And finally to the landmarks petition. Now I am unsure if
landmarks should be brought back, sounds like an interesting idea, but
it seems that will only veer the focus of good and evil to landmarking
and not to the real issues that both have. I am defendant of all that is
Good but I don't see firmly why Good must steep low to jibe at Evil, I
always thought we where above that. And I didn't think Evil, although I
understand they hate all that is Good, also needed to swoop down to less
then their level to jibe in the same way. From what I see it Evil also
has very brilliant people amongst their ranks, and so does Good. I dont
see why we need to jibe and insult to get a point across. Angaril, I
doubt you are the only one who wants to see a change in the Church. I do
not and cannot possibly condone your action of joining Mhaldor, not
because its 'city is blah blah' or whatever some people may say about
it, for I do not intend to disprespect them, but rather because Mhaldor
does stand against anything and all things Good may teach. The very same
things that you declaim you firmly believed in some time when you served
the Church. Mhaldor has their own set of beliefs and teachings. If I
where evil I'd say they are grand teachings, but I'm not evil therefore
I cannot find truth in these teachings. As former member of the Church
you should know that too. So I would have had more respect for your
person had you gone rogue and not join Mhaldor, because that is akin to
having never really believed in anything the Church teaches. If you
wished to see change you could have set an example to the others too see
and follow. I follow firmly the Codex independent of anything else,
although I do try to be an upstanding Shallam citizen. I clearly hope
that you may return to the light, but if you really wish to ascribe to
Mhaldor and their beliefs then please do not be an hypocrite about it
and become an Apostate. I say this becuase I find more respect to people
who are sincere to themselves. I for exapmle have a respect for Cain
becuase even though he is what he is he firmly believes in being what he
is no matter the consequences. He is being sincere to himself. There are
many so exapmles. Whether Shallamese, Mhaldorian, Cyrenesse. What I mean
to say is be honest to yourself. If you really believe the Church has no
more to offer and cannot be changed as it seems you do then by all means
do remove your robes. But if you really believe there can be a change
brought, if you really believe in not giving up hope ever then return
back to us. I hope this post was clear enough.
