Herb Minimum Pricelist

I assume you intended to address your post to Rangor, and not to me. As
Aecius has pointed out, I am not a Hierophant of Oakstone, but the
Guildmaster of the Druids. But since I did help forge the tri-guild herb
pricelist, that Oakstone has -endorsed-, I will respond briefly. For a
number of years, the forestal guilds did have minimum pricelists, that,
more often than not, were not consistent with other guilds. Through an
effort within the forestal community to unite and become more cohesive,
as well as more efficient in our duties to Nature, we have undertaken
several joint tasks. One of those efforts is a uniform minimum pricelist
for herbs and elixirs. If you go back in history, you will find this is
not the first time such a list has been undertaken. This, though, is
simply a revision to the old list that has been in effect for many
years. Myself, Greyda, and Loak, in consultation with members of our
respective guilds, have worked and arrived at a list that will be in
effect for our own guilds. Oakstone does not punish anyone for violating
the pricelist. However, there are many rogues in the land...there are
many merchants who are interested in maintaining a good relationship
with forestals, etc. Oakstone, therefore, does -endorse- the list that
has been prepared and agreed upon by the forestal guilds. Punishment for
violation of the pricelist is left to the individual guilds, if they so
choose to do so.
With regard to your statement that no other tradecrafts fix prices, I
beg to differ. It has been my understanding for many years that the magi
classes control the prices of enchantments, and even ban the sale of
certain enchantments, and that serpent classes control the prices of
venoms. Since I am not a member of either of those classes, my
information may be outdated, but I am sure someone will correct me, if
so. I believe Orophin rather eloquently described the rationale behind
pricelists. And, indeed, they are -suggested-. I hope this adequately
addresses your concerns.
