Greyda, Loak, and Oakstone

Pardon my cynicism, if I may. If you could entertain the curiosity of an
old Mhun, why is it that Oakstone fixes prices of herbs and vials?
I know it has nothing to do with overharvesting... you have other rules
to deal with that problem.
I know it has nothing to do with a fear of competition. No other
tradecrafts fix prices, and their members seem to make an ample profit
enchanting, forging, milking, etc, even with competition.
Why fix prices?
