Ooer, first public post. *bask*
I think that the rules and standards set down by Oakstone are fine the
way they are. They protect Nature, they conserve Her bounty while
allowing the forestals to profit from it. Every system is a give and
take. We take from Nature, She gives us the tools with which to make any
fully functioning forestal a very rich person. I, for one, am content
with that bond. While I might be the first person to admit publicly that
I enjoy making money from Nature's gifts to me, I'm surely not the only
one to agree that the balance is fair.
And yes, I just admitted it. Woe to me. I like that I can have money to
replace decayed armour. To eat. To take in a show now and then and to
have a nice piece of jewelry if I want it. In exchange, I offer my time,
a keen eye (it's a whole lot keener now, trust me), and my undying
loyalty to Nature first, always first, regardless of where I am or what
I am doing.
In short, Oakstone's okay by me. They're our peacekeepers and without
them, our balance goes away. We become another system of take, take,
take with nothing to give and nothing to offer back to the thing that
has made us what we are. I see Oakstone as Nature's voice and thus far,
I've no disagreements with what they have to say.
Anyways. Accipiter, I have no idea what you're trying to accomplish with
your mission, but any one person willing to stand up and try to change
the system is admirable. It takes courage and for that alone, you get
props. On my end, I'ma keep on keepin' on under Oakstone's rules and
guidelines. I don't think it's such a bad place to be.
