Guild influences

Greetings everyone

Many of us are members of a guild, even more of us were once members of
a guild. Its easy to say that guild do have the most influence on us,
how we grow, who we become, how the world see us and how we see
ourselves. A guild however doesnt create us and our personalities stay
as they were before we even joined the guild. Although we are a mass of
people joined together with some sort of common goal or thinking or
whatnot we are still individuals with our own dreams, our own desires,
our own belief.

Lately my heart has been heavy with talk of guilds over stepping their
boundaries. Of going past guild life and entering our personal life.
There are some things I hold sacred in my heart and although I think
guilds and cities are linked, You live in the city your guild does...
other things shouldnt matter to a guild. You cant give a person a
ultimatum and when they choose against the guild say they were obviously
never a part of the guild. Just because we rate our guild highly doesnt
mean that other things arent important to us. If I was told to 'like it
or leave' I would probably choose to leave, part because the guild has
no right and part because of the principle and part because whatever the
other thing is is important to me. Think about peoples past actions..
have they ever betrayed the guild before?

I know the guild leaders out there are not power hungry and I know they
mustnt gain any cruel desire from driving people to make decisions none
of us ever should have to make. Remember the guildmasters are voted in
by their guild mates, they cant afford to isolate themselves and sit on
a high seats and just deal out laws and punishment. They are still a
member of the guild itself, they are still just a guildmate like anyone
else if you take away their title and power. They need to work for the
better of the guild, not to shape every single one of us into the
picture they wish us to be.

Our guild and class reflect who we are, not we reflect what the guild
is.
