Dearest Liam,

I just thought I would point a few things out to you, since you were so
kind as to share your views on Curate Herenicus' Sermon.
I believe what the Curate was trying to convey when explaining Anu's
actions was simply that they embodied, to some weakened sense, the
values he attempts so vainly to fight amongst our people. The Curate
made this very clear, I think you will see, if you read his sermon
again. There is no shame in well placed cruelty or undertaking pain to
strengthen oneself. He was merely expressing that Mhaldorian freedon is
blossoming even in Shallam, where the cause appears, on the surface, to
be hopeless.

Justifying Anu's actions when Herenicus merely asked to speak to a
superior, and was not preaching, seems to me, having read the laws of of
Shallam and the Codex, to be counter productive to your peoples'
beliefs. Correct me if I am wrong.

Instead of attempting to piece apart sections of the sermon, you might
benefit from reading it in its entirety and learn from it, even if you
do not value our freedom or our Truths, I am sure there are things that
could benefit you within.
I myself had the "pleasure" of meeting anu, at which point, as I passed
into NoT, he began attacking my loyal baalzadeen for no reason at all.
Last I checked, the roads were not Shallamese domain, so I believe you
can imagine how much this surprised and confused me. Of course, being
considerably weaker than Anu, I was incapable of taking retribution in
this matter. But it has made me strive to gain in power that I might not
be among the weak, that I might strengthen myself for the Lord. Anu
reminded me that the strong dominate the weak by right of might, and if
one wishes to be free to move as they will, they must earn their
strength to do so.

I hope this clarifies some issues for you.

May we all be guided by the teachings of Lord Sartan,
