Warrior's Thought of (this particular) Day

War is not simply a contest of strength, but a contest of will. Wars end
not when the losing side has perished, but when they've lost the will to
fight. This is the war of will.

Most effective is the side with the greatest degree of propaganda. For
they can win this war of will, destroying the moral of their enemy. Even
more effective propaganda can turn a country's people against it's own
government. This is why a great leader must see more than simply the
battlefield. They must tend to troop moral.

Overconfidence is indeed folly. Expectation of perfection on the
battlefield leads to a disheartened populous when those battles are
fought. Overwhelming victories can look like crushing defeats through
the eyes of irresponsible scribes.

Do not engage in a war of strength against an enemy who can turn your
own people against you. They will win, no matter how superior you are.

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Miraman, in the year 372 AF.
