The most effective warrior serves his purpose in reputation, not on the
battlefield. For very few wars are started with the city who boasts the
fiercest warriors. In this, the warrior is a deterrent to violence
rather than the tool with which violence occurs.

The surest way to have a peaceful existance is for your enemies to know
you are fully prepared to deal with them if they bring the battle in
your direction. Cowards are the true catalysts of war.
