Warrior's Thought of the Day

When in his life a great warrior realized he had become unbeatable, he
realized a new chapter of his life was about to begin. Having no need to
fight, as none would ever challenge him, he decided to become a mentor
to a young protege. Being wise as he was, he selected a most promising
young boy to be his protege.

This boy was eager, and learned fast, but full of pride. Though his
intentions were always in the right place, he tended to talk when it was
not polite to do so. The master thought "no matter, I am quite a handful
myself."

The boy became powerful. He defeated gangs of thugs, was a powerful
deterrent to wars, but never felt complete being only a shadow of his
master.

One day while the two were practicing, sparring as it were, the old man
was defeated in single combat. As the man lay on his back, stunned, the
young boy said "Master, I have defeated you. Perhaps you are not the
greatest warrior after all!"

"Fool!" exlaimed the master, "For I have passed the last and greatest
test. Only a great master teaches a student so well that the student
might surpass him!"

With that the student was shocked. "Now if you can just learn to control
that mouth of yours!" said the Master. The student sat down, and
prepared himself for the next lesson.

Moral: A teacher prepare his students for excellence, setting himself as
the standard.
