You haven't told the entire truth. You abducted Aethelstane from
whenever and trapped her in your house. I attempted to rescue
her via Brazier where you decided to abduct her again.

An Archon, when queried, informed me that Ashtan protects its
citizens and merchants but not innocent lawabiding citizens from
Assault inside Ashtan's walls. She couldn't easily run away
from you - you abducted her from inside Ashtan and held her against
her wishes.
