Hmm...yes, 10 seconds of work, 25k gold. Not bad. Except for one small
little problem with it. I notice that the majority of Mhaldorian thieves
then proceed to hide in their city for the next 7 months. Open PK will
do that, I fear. It's really a question of "Would I prefer to earn a
fair chunk of gold on my own, doing something like fishing, get over 50k
from it for 7 months of work, or would I prefer to have to spend a week
only leaving my city phased, and for extremely brief periods of time,
never able to bash or fish or do anything in safety?" Decisions
decisions.

The only real exceptions to this are Cain and Silvaria, simply because
since they're mark, they can never really sit in safety outside their
city anyway. Though the veils do help. Then again, is the cost of one
balanced out by the little bit of extra safe time one affords outside
the city after one steals?

And, I do seem to remember Sunamon breaking into the Lichlord's shop in
Mhaldor twice, and Vigile ocassionally breaking into shops to recover
stolen and illegal items. Theft is not something Mhaldor has a monopoly
on. Dawnstrider theft, rare as it is, achieves the effect of
strengthening our bonds with our allies. Mhaldorian theft simply makes
your enemies hate you more. Again, a diplomacy issue. Something I harp
on, and I have yet to see a reply to.

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Aeguary, in the year 367 AF.
