This is the first public post I've made in my life, but I've been
actually irritated enough to waste 1k and some time to actually bother
to write one.
I don't know why so many people seem to dislike shallam so
much.....maybe it's my imagination, but many people from many cities
seem to think that Shallam is a misguided, twisted city that doesn't
know what it's doing and has everything wrong...
I've been a citizen of this city since I was 18 years old, and a member
of the Paladins guild. I'm tired of hearing people talk about how unfair
shallam is, and how we break our own rules and other blah blah blah
stories. I LIVE in this city, and I know that sometimes we screw up and
sometimes we make mistakes, but most of the time, it's an honest mistake
and we try to fix it. We try our hardest to fight our battles with
honour, and to adhere to our principles.
It's pretty hard, y'know, but we TRY. And that's more than I can say for
any other city in Sapience. Cyrene and Eleusis are neutral-good, which
is fine, I'm not sure where Hashan is cuz I'm kinda ignorant, Ashtan is
for freedom and is neutral, Oakstone is for nature and suchlike, Mhaldor
is evil. But Shallam is the only city that is full Good, and maybe we
don't do such a great job. But we try.
When Moghedu was invaded, we did make an attempt to help out. We do try
to discourage 'bashing' of innocent people. Like I've said about four
times in this post, I think, we try.
My theory is that you hate us because we aren't you, because we're so
'arrogant' in our beliefs that Good is the right way. If I ever act
arrogant to anyone, please tell me, I don't mean to be like that. I try
as hard as I can to protect Good, like I believe I should. There may be
some Shallamese who act like that, but I haven't met them, (and if I
did, I ran away because I was gonna puke and I forgot about it later)
You can't get rid of us by hating us, or making up lies about us, or
taunting us and calling us cowardly maggots -eye Kaelin-
I could name a few things that other cities have done that I don't find
at all honest or fair, but I won't comment. I've probably made a big
enough fool of myself as it is. That's just what I think. And now I've
finally made a public post! Yipee-yay!
