Fireworks over Polyargos

Late in the afternoon of the second of Sarapin, I was reading the Cyrene
city newspaper, dodging snow flurries and minding my own business when I
saw many strange lights in the sky. What follows is exactly what I saw
and heard, edited a little.

A pulsating crimson light surges upwards from the center of the
whirlpool in Polyargos, a spiralling vortex rising miles into the sky.

The very earth heaves beneath your feet as a venerable scion of the
forests breathes out its final sigh. Its cycle spent, the ancient split
oak in the temple of Gaia disintegrates into dust. As its energies are
released, rather than dissipating, they coalesce into a vibrant green
ray of light which spirals into the sky over Polyargos.

A terrific shattering sounds through the air as a slender vortex of
golden light spans the vast distance from the island of Ulangi to the
sky over Polyargos. Within the vortex are the shifting images of totem
animals: eagle, wolf, and salmon.

From the Dun Valley, a dazzling shower of water from Ethian's Falls
explodes into the sky, forming a single swift-spiralling vortex of
shimmering blue light which joins the other vortices over Polyargos.

The Dakhota Hills rumble with a mighty eruption from beneath a desolate
valley nestled within. The earth splits within the valley, and a
spiralling ray of indigo light pours forth from the depths, arcing up
into the sky over Polyargos.

A soft, feathery touch as of a butterfly's wings caresses your face for
an instant, then the ephemeral feeling is gone. In the sky over the
Aalen, a beautiful violet vortex of light can be seen, ascending high
over the redwood forest to join the other vortices of light over
Polyargos.

A gentle, feminine sigh breathes through the land, as the Pillars of
Maya crumble finally into dust. From where they once stood, a soft
coral-colored light swirls upwards into the sky, langurously spanning
the distance between the Siroccian Mountains and Polyargos.

As the vortices of swirling, pulsating coloured light meet in the sky
over Polyargos, they swirl around each other in a frantic mesh of
colours.

A terrible roar sounds through the air as the winged, red form of a
dragon can be seen hurtling up from the peak of Polyargos, towards the
meeting of the vortices.

Reaching the vortices, the red dragon moves at stunning speed around and
through them, weaving their forces to form an enormous sphere of white
light.

Within the sphere is a small black figure which appears to be spinning.

The figure grows larger and larger, until it is recognizable as the form
of a woman, spinning in a frenzied yet graceful dance. She dances faster
and faster, until her limbs are nothing but a black blur.

With a deafening clap of thunder, the sphere of white light explodes
into countless shimmering shards of light, which rain down upon the land
from above only to vanish before meeting the ground.

Banishing the light, Lord Twilight conjures Stygian darkness over the
land and the bright moon enters the heavens.

Makali, Goddess of Destruction thunders, "Your words, Alynna, have
earned My first favour."

Makali, Goddess of Destruction thunders, "Are we in short supply of
fools these days? I certainly hope not, for I do enjoy a chance to blow
off steam."

Do we have a new deity?
