Most thieves don't take your stuff for financial gain, well when its not
-just- your gold and especially not well-established thieves like Rinoa.
They take personal items that will hurt you because they get off on
inflicting pain upon the land. Good Sartanites, they'd make wouldn't
they? Yig was a master Sartanite, and a master at mushrooming wedding
bands just to annoy people.

Point is... you give them pleasure when you whine your story about your
lost items on public. If you want to annoy a thief, never lettum see you
sweat. Don't complain. Don't whine. They do it to get a reaction and if
you give that reaction - especially across public- they win. --- "Hoo
haaa look that thief is a good thief she did it again, and look at that
victim cry! She did a good job!" --- Save us the need to read it, save
yourself the 1k gold, and don't give the thieves the pleasure of knowing
they succeeded in anything.
