Nature and the Druid Guild

Floralei, when you left the Druids Guild, you forfeited your right to
demand changes in guild policy. You seem to operate under several
misconceptions. First, off, you seem to believe that the Druid's Guild
is a guild whose goals are freedom and neutrality. The guild oath does
not contain any vows with regard to either of these things. However,
this guild has historically strived to remain politically neutral. The
guild takes no part in city wars, nor allies itself with no one but
other organizations dedicated to the well-being of Nature. Individual
druids are free to involved themselves with more urban matters as many
have done throughout history. This is the freedom that druids have. But
what you forget, Floralei, is that our individual freedoms may *never*
interfere with nor infringe on the ultimate goal of the Druid Guild ---
the preservation and maintenance of Nature. Here is a segment from the
Druidic Oath that exemplifies that ---
Do you swear to care for and respect all of Nature, and the Forests,
tending to the needs of and defending them to the best of your ability,
even if it demands your life in return? Do you swear to honour at all
times our Laws, this Oath, and are you willing to pledge your life and
very soul to the tending and protection of Nature itself?
Neutrality has been important to the guild, and the guild to this day,
continues to honour that. But neutrality ends where harm to Nature or
the forests occur. I can see that at least Agrias needs some History
Lessons, but the facts remain the same, and many of them can be read in
the Events section of the news board. The fact is that Lord Sartan *did*
exterminate Mother Gaia's grove. The fact is that Lord Sartan *did*
order his followers to exterminate all the forests in the lands, as many
of his followers were proud to declare as they killed forest after
forest. Those are the facts, not propanganda. Mhaldor itself exists on
land that once was home to plants and animals. Now it is home only to
the infamous red fog and mutations designed to further the goals of
evil. If druids and others in the land fear Mhaldor, it is because of
the facts, Floralei. The fog in and around Mhaldor has destroyed Nature
and had to be fought back by Mother Gaia and druids and sentinels, and
others who love Nature in order to prevent it from spreading and
destroying other forests and natural areas in the lands. Mhaldor itself
has had martial law in place for years and years, and it certainly
appears to be a permanent situation. Indeed, we do teach our young to
fear Mhaldor...we teach them the lessons that Mhaldor wants
taught---stay out of our city or we will kill you.
So, in summary, Floralei, indeed, druids have freedoms. But none who
take the Druidic Oath have the freedom to support the destruction of
Nature. Your clan, Ulkataure, seeks to install the Seven Truths of Lord
Sartan in the forest. As I explained above, Lord Sartan has no place in
nature. THe Druid Guild will ban any clan that actively attempts to give
Lord Sartan a place in Nature. His realm is Evil and not Nature. The
Druid Guild will continue to abide by our oath to protect Nature in
every aspect.
Agrias----there is actually not a lot to say to you except that you have
an astounding lack of information. How do you know what happened during
the Sartai Wars? You certainly were not alive at the time. You have
never been a druid, so you have no knowledge of our perspective on
anything. And I know for a fact that you were never a follower of Mother
Gaia.... I was there, though, Agrias. I was there with many druids,
sentinels, and now sylvans. We fought the followers of Lord Sartan for
years while they followed His orders and burned forests and jungles
alike. You may or may not know that the entire Dun jungle was
exterminated during those years. That was the world's sole supply of
kola and skullcap. There was no kola to be sold in Sapience for many
many years as a result. As a guesstimate, nearly a thousand forestal and
jungle locations were exterminated in those years...all by followers of
Lord Sartan and under his orders. That is what happened, Agrias. Not
your twisted, misinformed ramblings about the Goddess of Nature. With
regard to your statements on exterminations by Tybalt...to be kind...is
misguided and extremely ill reasoned. I understand that you have no
guild, therefore no class, and you certainly have never been a druid. So
I can forgive your lack of insight and information on forestal matters.
Agrias...extermination totally destroys all plant life in a location. It
totally severs the druid's relationship with a grove. It even removes
the location itself from the forest environment itself. The effect of
extermination, Agrias, is the same regardless of whether it is done for
retaliation, for *fun*, for essence, or for the glory of Sartan. The
forest is destroyed all the same. It is the single most destructive act
against Nature.
As to Floralei putting out fires...I applaud her and I thank her for her
efforts to fight fires. We have *all* died numerous times, Agrias, in
service to Nature. But that does not give us the right to aide
exterminators, and to welcome the forest's greatest enemy into the
forest or Nature. We take our oaths seriously...all of them.
